Artist Statement

Nature is my inspiration. My desire to create has been a lifelong passion to give physical expression to my imagination and to create art that encourages a greater appreciation for Earth. As an abstract artist, my creative process is a balance between intuitive and intentional use of color, form, texture, and technique. This allows the freedom to develop images as originally inspired or to experiment in other directions.

Bio

Born in Richmond, Virginia, between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. I developed a strong interest in both art and Nature at an early age. Both have always played a central role in my life. Appreciating and creating art give me joy and a special awareness and appreciation of life, that I wish to share.

Process

I work with acrylic, sand and marble chips applying layers of rich texture that create an interplay between light and shadow. I use both traditional and innovative tools, methods, materials.
